After six years of preparations, Gunilla and Krister Bewert with the OE36 Elvina took off on schedule from Kristinehamn june 19 at 5 pm.

The friends of Gunilla and Krister, together with many citizens of Kristinehamn were gathered at the marina in Kristinehamn to give their best wishes for the journey.

Elvina moored in Kristinehamn marina. The circum navigation will start in three hours..

Many friends had brought gifts for Gunilla and Krister. The OE yacht club gave the sailors the book about the boat designer Olle Enderlein.

One last coffee break before departure. Gunilla is trying the right facial expression while Krister eats a sandwich.

Elvina has a very nice interior made of mahogany. You can tell that Krister is a carpenter. Gunilla and Krister have stowed provisions for 35 days and some of the equipment is still not on there right places.

Resolute? ? Not at all...

About 4 pm the dockside is getting crowded.

The seriousness of the situation takes differnt expressions.

The mooring was abandoned at 5 pm sharp. .
